Mainstream Innovations was incorporated in 2011, with the mission to help bring energy efficient products to market. Our initial efforts were aimed at the creation of new market channels for existing technologies, mainly through relationship development, the creation of marketing programs and staff training.
Our work began with bringing ductless heat pumps to market through traditional retail appliance channels and online sales. Initial clients included Samsung (Quietside Corp.), Amazon.com and Fry's Electronics.
In 2013, we began working to bring ductless heat pumps to market through manufactured home builders. Clients included Fleetwood Homes, IdeaBox and Palm Harbor Homes. We also helped launch a distribution company, Ductless Supply. Partners included JRP, Inc (Jeff Pratt) and Brady Peeks and Tom Hewes of Northwest Energy Works, Inc.
In 2014, we began working with heat pump water heaters. This was our most ambitious project to date, adding product management to our traditional program development and training roles. We began work with UTL Air Conditioning Company of Foshan, China, helping them adapt their Vkin brand heat pump water heaters for the North American market. This work continues.
In 2016, we produced product testimonial videos for the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance and The Heat Pump Store. Project partners included DMK Productions (Dave Krygier) and Bushnell Design Studio (Edie Bushnell). Examples are included below.
In 2018, Mainstream became part of the implementation team of the NW Ductless Heat Pump Project, an initiative of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. Our work helped create a variety of training classes and seminars. Our long experience with the HVAC Supply Chain helped re-engage distribution and contractors in the region to the work and mission of the project. This work continues.
Also in 2018, Mainstream began consulting with Panasonic Corporation of North America and their HVAC Products Division, to help them engage with utility energy efficiency programs across the USA. This work continues.
In 2021, Mainstream partnered with Franklin Energy to create HEAT PUMP NATION for the Comfortable Home Rebates program of Pacific Gas & Electric.
